The fields of activity of the Laboratory concern:

1. The provision of a high level of knowledge, the promotion of basic and applied research and the training of students in matters of modern technology of production of furniture and wooden structural constructions in general.

2. The combination of knowledge, practical skills and developments that characterize the modern technological environment in the wider industry of wood and wooden constructions, with the principles of ecology, environmental protection, consumer and employee safety, as well as with national and International standards and technical requirements regarding the performance and optimal management of wood and furniture products.

3. The supply of students with the necessary cognitive and technological "tools", so that they are able to pursue a career in the full range of work items in the wood and furniture sector.

4. The production of accessible educational material and the design of differentiated educational programs on the above topics.

5. The elaboration of research and training programs related to the interests of the Laboratory.

6. Any form of cooperation with the academic staff of the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences and Design or other Departments of the University of Thessaly as well as with other laboratories, institutes, research centers, environmental centers, museums, cultural centers, academic institutions, academics, and associations, private sector companies, etc. of the country and abroad, provided that the scientific objectives of the respective cooperation will be harmonized with those of the Laboratory.

7. The organization of scientific lectures, workshops, seminars, symposia, conferences and other scientific events with the invitation of scientists and professionals of recognized prestige at home and abroad and the realization of publications, competitions and publications in Greece and abroad, on issues related to cognitive objects of the Laboratory.

8. The training of public and private sector executives and the informing of the general public on issues related to the research activities and objectives of the Laboratory.

9. The development of online and physical communities and fora with the participation of students / three, teachers, but also any interested party who embraces the goals or is interested in the scientific objects of the Laboratory.

Production of original furniture

Studies and research for the identification of wood species, imported European and tropical wood species from various applications

Application studies of wood products and wood constructions in various uses and technical advice of appropriate application and conditions of use Laboratory measurements on the quality characteristics and properties of wood, wood products and composite and welded wood products. The fields of activity of the Laboratory concern:

1. The theoretical and practical training of undergraduate and postgraduate students in the scientific fields, the management of road and forestry infrastructure, as well as their harmonization in the environment.

2. The promotion of the interdisciplinarity of the applications of holistic design, construction management and its methods.

3. The design, development and evaluation of intelligent management and operation systems of road and forestry infrastructure, which fall into the research interests of the members of the Laboratory.

4. The elaboration of research and training programs related to the interests of the Laboratory.

5. The production of accessible educational material and the design of differentiated educational programs that may relate to formal and non-formal educational contexts.

6. Any form of cooperation with the academic staff of the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences and Design or other Departments of the University of Thessaly as well as with other laboratories, institutes, research centers, environmental centers, museums, cultural centers, academic institutions and , provided that the scientific objectives of each collaboration will be harmonized with those of the Laboratory.

7. The organization of scientific lectures, workshops, seminars, symposia, conferences and other scientific events at the invitation of Greeks and scientists of recognized prestige abroad and the realization of publications and publications in Greece and abroad.

8. The training of teachers of General, Special and Technical / Vocational Education and the information of the public on issues related to the research activities and objectives of the Laboratory.

9. The development of online and physical communities and fora with the participation of students / three, teachers, but also any interested party who embrace the goals of the Laboratory.

10. The provision of services to individuals and any legal form of organizations in accordance with what is provided in the PD. 159 (Government Gazette A '53 / 27.04.1984).
