Support structure for students with disabilities and / or special educational needs
The aim of the PROSVASI service of the University of Thessaly is to record the needs of students / three with disabilities and / or special educational needs and their teachers, as well as their information and support. Also, an important mission of PROSVASIS is the operational intervention in the premises of the University with the aim of improving their accessibility for FMAs.
Students with disabilities and teachers register on the online platform of PROSVASIS to express their needs, to be informed and / or to receive support regarding issues of access to the University. Indicatively, Students with disabilities can register in PROSVASIS in order to inform the service about obstacles in their access, to ask for support during their courses or some difference in their exams.
If Students with disabilities want support, fellow students take on the role of volunteers in order to enhance the access of their fellow students. Specifically, the students-three-volunteers in collaboration with faculty members can help the students with disabilities in their movement within the premises of the University, in completing applications, in attending courses, in converting various files into another format, in preparing them for the exams. Finally, for the deaf students of the University of Thessaloniki, the possibility of interpretation in the Greek sign language is given.
In addition to students with disabilities, teachers who wish to be informed or supported to enhance FME access can consult the instructions posted on the PROSVASIS website (see Teaching and Assessment). Also, if they want personalized information or support, they register electronically on the PROSVASIS platform (see teacher form) so that we can contact them.
To date, 148 students with disabilities and / or special educational needs are enrolled in PROSVASIS, studying in all departments of the University of Thessaly.
