Charalampos Lykidis is an Assistant Professor at the University of Thessaly, Greece. He has a PhD in “Recycling of wood based panel products” (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) for which he was awarded an Excellence and Innovation scholarship and was selected (among 180 European candidates) for presentation in the Young Researchers Forum of 2013 (organized by COST - FTP). He has many years of research and teaching experience in the areas of wood science and technology. His current research interests include: Recycling of wood products, Alternative raw materials for the production of wood composites, wood modification and wood densification. From 2011 to 2018 he has been a Researcher, Head of the Anatomy and Wood Technology Laboratory at the Institute of Mediterranean Forest Ecosystems and Forest Products Technology, Hellenic Agricultural Organization (ELGO) Dimitra. He has published more than fifty articles in various international and national conferences, journals etc. He is a reviewer in more than 15 internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals in his field. She has supervised 1 PhD, 1 MSc and 12 BSc dissertations and served as a member of a three-member advisory committee of 2 PhD and 1 MSc dissertation. He has a rich teaching experience at Universities, Technical Institutions, Vocational Training Institutes etc. and has been a training coordinator of the Directorate-General for Health and Consumers of the European Commission. In addition, he has lectured at 2 Universities abroad (Mendel University of the Czech Republic and TEC - Costa Rica). He is a member of the European Co-operation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research (COST, European Union) with participation in 5 actions (COST Actions): E31, E49, FP0904, FP1303, FP1407). He has participated in more than 30 research projects as a coordinator or collaborating researcher
