Start of Submission of First-Year Student’s Meals Applications
The first-year students year 2022-2023, will submit the application online with the required supporting documents, for the granting of free meals, from Wednesday, September 21th, 2022 to Thursday, October 6th, 2022. The prerequisite is the completion of the registration at the Departments’ Secretariats and the acquisition of their institutional account codes. First-year students who have not yet received their Academic Identity Card should attach to the corresponding field of the form the “Academic Identity Preview” which they will find on the website of the Academic Identity Acquisition Service (academicid.minedu.gov.gr) when they complete the their application. Teaching the interdisciplinary elective course “Introduction to Entrepreneurship”
The interdepartmental elective course “Introduction to Entrepreneurship” which will be held in the framework of the project “Supporting Actions to Support Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Maturation for the Utilization of Research Activity and New Products and Services developed at the University of Thessaly” will be taught in Karditsa (for the departments based in the cities of Karditsa and Trikala) every Thursday 9am-12pm in room A (building C) of the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences and Planning. Student’s room pickup in the Student Residences of Karditsa for the Academic Year 2022-2023
The first-year students of the University of Thessaly, who are entitled to accommodation in the Student Residences of Karditsa for the academic year 2022-23, will receive their room from 23/09 to 30/09/2022 (working days and hours 09:00-13:00) , providing: A photo a) € 360 if they have been selected for a single room. b)€135 if they have been selected for a double room. Registration of students with disabilities and/or special educational needs in PROSVASIS for the academic year 2022-23
If you are a student who has not registered in Prosvasis, registration has begun! To sign up in PROSVASIS, follow these steps: Complete the online registration application on the PROSVASIS website (Register to PROSVASIS). To fill out the registration form you will need to log in with your university email. In the application you will be asked to attach two forms: A) the diagnostic document from a public body stating the disability and/or special learning difficulties, and B) the descriptive report of the assessment of skills (e.g. learning, cognitive, communication , social, kinetic etc.) and of your needs (you can look for it from the body that issued the diagnostic document or from another body, public or private, in which an evaluation process was carried out). After completing the application, make an appointment online with PROSVASIS (Make an appointment) to have your needs recorded in person (in the city of Volos or Larissa) or remotely via Microsoft Teams. The leadership of the Ministry of Education & Religious Affairs in the FWSD Department in the 86th TIF
The leadership of the Ministry of Education & Religious Affairs visited the 86th Thessaloniki International Fair on September 10th & 11th, 2022 the stand of the University of Thessaly, in which the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences & Design actively participated presenting some of its research results and actions. The Minister, Mrs. Niki Kerameos, stated that she is happy for the upward trend of the FWSD Department (after her double visit to its facilities in December 2019), while the Deputy Ministers, Mr. Angelos Syrigos and Mrs Zeta Makri, expressed their intention very soon to visit take a tour of the Department’s facilities in Karditsa. The effort of all the members of the academic community of the FWSD Department is continuous for its further development and extroversion, and we sincerely thank them as an administration. We are also thankful to the administration of the University of Thessaly for supporting and recognizing the entire effort of the FWSD Department!..
Participation of the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences & Design in an experiential conference in Karditsa – 10.1.2022
An important experiential conference aimed at students and adults involved in Art and Science. The conference will take place at the premises of the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences and Design (FWSD) in Karditsa, on Saturday, October 1st, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The conference “The Art of Social Sculpture and Play Sculpture as cultivation tools for Pedagogy, Politics and Climate Change”, takes place within the framework of the Project Biotransformation through forms of Art (Action 2K/ Social Action for Climate Change) with the Financing of the Green Fund (Natural Environment – Innovative Actions) in collaboration with the University of Thessaly and the Pedagogical Theater Workshop of Theatrical Game Without Omega. The new Interdepartmental Master’s Program entitled “Advanced Technologies for Environmental Risk Management” of the collaborating Departments of i) Agriculture, Ichthyology and Aquatic Environment, ii) Energy Systems and iii) Forestry, Wood Sciences and Design of the University of Thessaly was established. Subject of the MSc entitled “Advanced Technologies for Environmental Risk Management”, is the education and research in the broad knowledge field of Environmental Risk Management, through modern technologies.
